Goo on my shoe by Jacqui Shepherd

Barbara’s Book Review

Goo on my shoe is a delightful rhyming book with a sweet message about the power of moms. Younger children will especially enjoy this book, but it is a lot of fun to read aloud for all ages! The book includes words such as “misery,” “cross,” “dreadful,” and “struggle,” which teachers and parents will find helpful in vocabularly development. Rhyming words with different spelling patterns are also represented here. In addition, the illustrations by SKlakina convey the main character’s feelings throughout the pages.

I recommend this book for ages 4-8 especially, but older children and adults will also enjoy reading this aloud.

The underlying message is that moms are ready to help whenever a child needs her.
